What is UI Design?

UI Design, or User Interface Design, is an area of product development that focuses on the look and feel of a website or application. UI design often begins with visual mockups that show the layout and design of an interface. These mockups can then be translated into interactive prototypes that allow a user to interact with a proposed interface. The results from prototyping may be used as part of a requirements gathering process with stakeholders who must approve the project before it moves forward.
